CHAMBER COURSE

all levels

INTRODUCTION

The course aims to develop solid skills in the learning and performing of chamber music from the Western classical tradition. Students will develop a range of skills including score reading, expressive, interpretative and collaborative abilities, critical listening and self-evaluation, the performance of selected works, and inter-personal skills associated with working within an ensemble and the exchange of feedback with peers.

Through weekly rehearsals, tutorials with Yulia Berry, and a Chamber Recital at the end of the course students will become aware of the many factors involved in successful chamber music performance, enhancing their practice in this rich area of musical endeavor.

Various ensembles will be formed using the available players. These ensembles may include: flute trio, flute quartet, flute duo with the piano and other various ensembles based on the repertoire and available players, as Yulia Berry will do her best to find other instrumentalists and invite them to participate in the ensembles.

All students perform at a Chamber recital during the last lesson and get a Certificate of Completion.
